„Katedra Informatyki Stosowanej Wydziału Elektrotechniki,Automatyki, Informatyki I Inżynierii Biomedycznej AGH, zaprasza na cykl wykładów prowadzonych w języku angielskim z komentarzami autora w języku polskim, w wymiarze 30 godzin, kóry będzie zaliczony jako przedmiot obieralny.
Na okres trwania wykładów, studentom zapisanym i uczestniczącym w nich, Kierownictwo Katedry Informatyki Stosowanej udziela zwolnienia z pozostałych zajeć (za wyjątkiem zapowiedzianych kolokwiów lub egzaminów).
W wyniku porozumienia pomiędzy AGH i University Of Missouri – St. Louis, będzie istniała możliwość wyjazdu na stypendium do St. Louis. (USA)

Genetic Programming (GP) is an evolutionary computation problem solving method. GP uses a population of potential solutions, represented as trees, and applies Darwinian principles to evolve problem solvers. GP searches a representation space spanned by predefined functions and terminals – labels for trees. The size and complexity of the space have led researchers to propose methods to discover useful problem models able to bias the search. Adaptable Constrained GP (ACGP) is one such method. ACGP discovers very local and efficient heuristics and uses them to improve GP performance. This presentation will introduce GP, ACGP, discuss its heuristic models and illustrate its performance using standard regression and machine learning problems.
Dr. Cezary Z Janikow is an Associate Professor of Computer Science, and the Head of Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, University of Missouri – St. Louis. He has received B.A. (1986) and M.S. (1987) from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and Ph.D. (1991) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, all in Computer Science. His research interests include evolutionary computation, representation and constraints in genetic algorithms and genetic programming, machine learning, and fuzzy representation for decision trees.
His teaching interests include software design, development, and management in object-oriented and agile projects, and language translations. He has been teaching since 1988 at universities, non-credit extensions, and for many corporate clients.He has been involved in over twenty grants and contract-based projects with agencies/companies such as NSF, NIH, NASA, Unisys, ESI, has reviewed for about thirty different journal, has published about fifty journal and conference papers, and has been a proposal reviewer and panelist for a number of federal and local agencies.”
